Earlier today, I was in an interview when I was asked: what is your favorite vacation spot? That's such a tough question for me. I've always been inclined to move to vacation spots rather than just experience them for brief weekend encounters filled with drunken haziness. After graduating from UK, I volunteered for the paratroopers. Somehow, I was stationed in Hawaii. There I learned to surf and enjoy the tropical sway - between deployments and training soldiers. I even met Kelly Slater!!

Next I moved to Santa Barbara. The seasons are almost perfect there. I surfed, worked in wine country, and learned mortgage finance. (www.wmdcapital.com) On two occasions, I was joined by Jack Johnson in the lineup.

Now I'm in LA. I live near Santa Monica Blvd and the 405. I work on the 7th floor of a subprime lender, while trying not to get kicked out of my MBA program (UCLA Anderson). Surfing is my lifeline. Just recently, I met up with fraternity brother Matthew McConaughey. Bourbon is my tonic water - I'm sippin' on Ancient Age tonight.

So what is a vacation? For me, it's not a place. I can't live somewhere I don't LOVE. So, vacation is a dock, a guitar, seafood, bourbon, & friends. It could be Rough River, Hilton Head, New Orleans, Hawaii, or Fiji.
